Sango, the god of thunder, is the principal festival of the Timi of Ede. Sango was adopted in remembranceof Alaafin. Sango is celebrated annually in Ede, because of the TimiAjenijuBamigbaye who was born with a clenched fists that contained objects like the thunder bolt in his left fist. Since he was born a Sango devotee, he popularized Sango worship in Ede and took it as his traditional festival. There is a monument in memory of Sango in Ede.
