Osun Government will facelift Sango Shrine

Honourable Bankole Ojo, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Osun State, delivered a resounding message of dedication to the revitalization of cultural and tourist sites across the region during his speech at the Sango Timi Festival held in Ede. He underscored Governor Adeleke’s deep-seated appreciation for culture and tourism, emphasizing that the State Government is fully committed to leveraging these sectors to fortify the State’s economy. Commissioner Ojo outlined plans for the construction of a pavilion at the Shrine, aiming to offer tourists a welcoming and enjoyable space to immerse themselves in the cultural experience.

Furthermore, Mrs. Adebimpe Ogunlumade, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, and Mrs. Solape Abolarin, the Executive Secretary of the Osun Council for Arts and Culture, echoed Commissioner Ojo’s sentiments, urging the cooperation of Osun residents in collaboration with the State Government to foster the development of the Culture and Tourism sector.

Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ajayi, the General Manager of the Osun Tourism Board, emphasized the invaluable significance of indigenous culture, particularly highlighting the pivotal role of Sango, the god of iron, in shaping the history of the Yoruba people. Her remarks underscored the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous cultural heritage as a cornerstone of the State’s tourism strategy.

Lastly, Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the Timi of Ede land, impassioned the people of Ede to deepen their commitment to their cultural heritage and traditions. His call to action resonated with the broader message of preserving and celebrating Osun State’s rich cultural tapestry for future generations.
